Foot Soldiers Park - NFT Art 2022
NFT Art - Created with 100% proceeds to Foot Soldiers Park
'You are the most important piece' is an artistic representation of JoAnne Bland's story of where the Bloody Sunday March began. When visitors come to this historic patch of cement she tells the story in the quotes of the art piece. JoAnne gives each visitor a small stone that has chipped off this cement as a symbol of their connection to these leaders and their role in carrying on the movement for social change.
The sculpted wall in the background pays homage the march path from Selma to Montgomery Alabama. The small puzzle piece at the bottom of the Y in You represents this symbol of their connection.
All proceeds for this art will go to the funding effort for Foot Soldiers Park.

Augmented Reality (AR) installation
Notes in Flight draws from Austin’s musical spirit, the movement of bats over Lady Bird Lake, and the layered cultural history of the city. The sculpture is organized around three sweeping gestures, each carrying traces of curvature inspired by B.B. King’s guitar, Lucille, and the legacy of musical expression that shaped the project’s conceptual foundation.
Viewed through its apertures and abstract strings, the installation frames the physical bats moving through the evening sky as if they were musical notes released from an instrument. The work becomes a dialogue between augmented reality and lived experience, between digital atmosphere and the rhythms of the city itself.
The suspended orange form evokes a bat at rest, while the blue swoosh references the movement and reflective surface of Lady Bird Lake. Together, these elements create a spatial instrument—one that turns the site, the sky, and the viewer’s perspective into part of the composition.
